There are so many favorites of mine on this list. I just finished The Phantom Tollbooth yesterday!
How many have you read?

I love The Phantom Tollbooth! I think I've read about 25 of these.
DC.
I love this list ... what a walk through memory lane! Blume and Rowling, Lewis, White, and Wilder.... *sigh*
Great list. I really loved your mix of new and older titles, but I have a suggestion to add to the list. My niece just started reading Sewing A Friendship this weekend and she can't seem to put it down. Anything that gets a child, who is not generally a big reader, that attached to a book is worthy of this list.
I agree, Kate! Isn't it wonderful when a kid discovers a book that totally captivates them?
But I didn't create this list, so I can't add to it.
Now that your niece has found a book she loves, maybe you can help her find similar titles by the same author or other books she might like. try some from this list!
Sue
Believe me I am looking for them already Sue! I think that I may just take her to B&N and let her look around. God knows its not like her mother has ever set foot inside a book store.
This is a great list. I am going to share this with my friend who likes to read children books. I have read several listed. I am planning to read The Thief in May. I am going to print this list out, and keep it handy. There probably are books on here that my 10-year old avid reading daughter will like to read.
Thanks for sharing this link on my blog so that I could take a look.
