The Broke and the Bookish has a weekly question for bloggers for its Top Ten Tuesday meme (see the similarities?). This week's theme is Top Ten Favorite Authors. Sounds like fun!
I'll limit this list to kids/teen/YA authors, but you can read my list of favorite grown-up authors at Book By Book.
So, here we go, in no particular order:
- Suzanne Collins (I loved her work even before Hunger Games)
- C.S. Lewis
- Madeleine L'Engle
- J.K. Rowling
- D.J. MacHale
- Carolyn Keene (had to include this one since I devoured Nancy Drew as a kid!)
- Dr. Seuss
- Judy Blume
- Margaret Peterson Haddix
- Kate DiCamillo
How about you - who are your favorite authors?

I see you wrote a Top Ten list...cool! :)
Fantastic list.
Rowling is on many lists including mine.
I read a book by Haddix, her first in the Hidden series. I liked the book. Need to read more.
Of course, I love CS Lewis. Suzanne Collins, I think I should read that other series of hers, I am forgetting the title, but her HG series has left me a bit meh.
ooo... Judy Blume... Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. Loved that book... "I must, I must increase my bust." LOL. :gasp: I have not introduced my girls to Blume, I must change that...now!
Believe it or not, I only like a few Dr. Suess books...I know, I know... My favoirte is There's A Wocket In My Pocket. Love reading that one aloud!!
Again, I am so glad to see that you wrote a Top Ten list. :)
All great authors. Just found out about MacHale's second book in the Morpheus Road series will be release in April.
Great list! I love that you included Carolyn Keene!
Your list:
1. Suzanne Collins ...I should have put her on my list, too. I love Hunger Games. The whole series.
2. C.S. Lewis...I left him off because I am reading Screwtape letters right now and don't like it. Bad reason since I adore Narnia.
3. Madeleine L'Engle... my childhood favorite.
4. J.K. Rowling...so obvious I left her off. Poo.
5. D.J. MacHale ... haven't any of hers/his but kids like the Pendragon series.
6. Carolyn Keene...I was a fan as a young girl, too.
7. Dr. Seuss...of course
8. Judy Blume...I'm a smidge too old.
9. Margaret Peterson Haddix...My youngest daughter loved her.
10. Kate DiCamillo...For a long time I told everyone that my favorite book was Because of Winn-Dixie; my sister, an elementary teacher adores her.
Anne - I'm a HUGE fan of Pendragon! It's an amazing series.
