It's Tuesday and that means Top Ten day over at The Broke and the Bookish!
Head over there and check out all the links. You can also see my list
of Top Ten Books Everyone Has Read But Me (grown-up books) over at Book By Book.
- The Twilight series…and I don’t intend to. Just not that into it.
- Linger and Forever – I did finally read Shiver and loved it! Now I need to find time to finish the series.
- Anything by Roald Dahl – can you believe it?
- The Invention of Hugo Cabret – I still hope to read this one!
- Where the Red Fern Grows
- Anne of Green Gables
- I Am Number Four – but we just watched the movie and loved it!
- Anything by Sarah Dessen – just haven’t gotten around to it.
- Anything by John Green, though I really, really want to.
- The Outsiders – how’d I grow up in the 70’s without reading this?
How about you?

Stay as far away from Twilight as you can! ;)
Anne of Green Gables is one of my all time favorite series! I just love that Anne girl. Definitely give it a try if you get the chance. It's one of those series that really touches your heart.
Here's my Top Ten
I do have a hard time believing that you've never read Dahl or Anne of Green Gables! When you read Dahl...my favorite in BFG...which stands for big, friendly giant!
Thanks for the recommendations, Kathy! My kids have read plenty of Dahl - don't know how I missed it all these years...
Thanks for the tip, Aeicha! Looks like I definitely need to read Anne of Green Gables.
I'm with you as far as Twilight etc goes. Life's too short I think. But Hugo Cabret is sensational- Selznick pushes the boundary of format (in a good way), and it's set in Paris! Where the Red Fern Grows is devastatingly sad. I only heard about it and read it last year. I agree my favourite Dahl is The BFG or The Minpins.
Where the Red Fern Grows was a tear jerker for me (I literally shed tears at the end) I also loved Rawls other book Summer of the Monkeys, which was hilarious and sweet. Despite it's age this is a book I think you will enjoy!
Linger and Forever are good reads. I love The Wolves of Mercy Falls.
Definitely try to read some Roald Dahl! The man was practically my childhood hero. Anne of Green Gables was a close second to that.
